Pastor Brian Kemp-Schlemmer began his appointment at Broadway on July 1, 2024 and preached his first message on July 7th. We welcome Brian and his family to Broadway UMC and the Council Bluffs Community.
At Broadway, we believe all persons are children of God, created in the image of God, for the glory of God. We live that out by welcoming and offering full inclusion for all. Whether you are here to worship, looking to be baptized, take communion or celebrate your wedding vows, you are welcome here.
Located in the historic downtown of Council Bluffs, the church is a landmark to the community at 1st and Broadway. You can spot our silver spire from all directions. As you visit the church you will find ample parking on the east side of the building. After parking come in the glass doors and take the elevator or the stairs to the first floor.
On Sunday mornings we provide worship at 8:30 and 10:30am. Done in different styles both services center around the scripture and message for the day.
On the fifth Sunday of each month we all gather together at 9:30 and worship as one with hymns and praise songs.
Communion is served on the first Sunday of the month and during special times. All are invited to Christ’s table.
Traditional style worship is held at 8:30am. If you are a life long United Methodist and love singing hymns accompanied by organ this is the service for you. We also lift our voices together for responsive calls, prayers, and creeds. Here is where you will hear the choir and Broadway Bells.
Led by our own Praise Team, the 10:30 service is done in a contempory style. Worship flows freely between songs, scripture, message and prayers.
We welcome children in worship. We also provide a staffed nursery for children to play while parents take personal time for worship. The nursery is located off the Welcome Center and Broadway’s nursery staff have passed background checks and completed basic first aid training. We invite you to use our nursery free of charge as you are comfortable.
