We Remain in the Red Phase

Broadway United Methodist Church met via an online Zoom room to review COVID-19 numbers for the area and make a decision to move ahead with yellow phase reopening.  At the present time those present were unanimous is the decision to remain closed to in-person gatherings.

During this week’s Monday Update, Rev. Alexis explains our current COVID-19 status and what it might look like when we move into the next phase.

We spend time in prayer offering the singing of Happy Birthday to all those who have celebrated in the past few months.

June 21, 2020 - Father's Day Prayer

Loving God, who formed us all in your image, we thank you today for the men that have lived into that image by being love.  For men who feed us, hold us and kiss our wounds,
We give thanks to you, oh Lord.

For the men blessed with the ability to raise the children they created,
We give thanks to you, oh Lord.

For the men blessed with the courage to raise children they adopted as their own,
We give thanks to you, oh Lord.

For the men blessed with the ability to be a blessing to Children through teaching and volunteering,
We give thanks to you, oh Lord.

For the men blessed with the wisdom to give their children a different future through adoption,
We give thanks to you, oh Lord.

Loving God, we give you thanks for your grace and mercy to those who are struggling for the men who feel distance from their children both physical and emotional,
Let them feel Your love.

For the men who feel like they have failed as fathers,
Let them feel Your love.

For men who cannot father as they wish because of illness both physical and mental,
Let them feel Your love.

For the men who long to be fathers that have not been able to do so,
Let them feel Your love.

For the men who chose to terminate their parental rights,
Let them feel Your love.

For the men who are awaiting new life now,
Let them feel Your love.

For the men who have lost a child to death or estrangement
Let them feel Your love.

Keep their names on our hearts this day and all days. Help them to grow closer to you to walk in faith and to live more fully into your image.  In Jesus name we pray.  Amen
