Frequently Asked Questions

We gather for worship on the corner of S 1st and E Broadway - hence how we got our name of Broadway United Methodist Church! Services are held in our beautiful, historic sanctuary. We offer in-person and live streaming worship Sunday at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.

First, find the parking lot doors and walk inside — the hard part is done! Walk up the stairs, toward the center desk, then follow the sign for the sanctuary. (If you're joining us for the 10:30 service, stop in the DeLong lounge for some coffee and donuts before worship!) Once you're in the sanctuary, you are welcome to sit any where you feel most comfortable. If you want to begin a conversation with a neighbor, great! If you prefer to listen and observe, fantastic! Whether you’re outgoing or shy, extroverted or introverted, you can engage as little or as much as you like.

If you normally dress up to go to church, then feel free to get decked out and wear your shiny shoes! If you’re more comfortable in casual clothes, wear that. Most people wear jeans, shorts, sweaters, or casual shirts. Broadway t-shirts are always welcome. Most importantly - come as you are.

We offer two services, each with their own flavor. Choose whichever resonates with you and where you are on your faith journey.

At our 8:30 a.m. service,  we offer a more traditional worship. We sing songs from the Methodist hymnal which are led by the organ and a song leader, and both our adult choir and handbell choir also offer their gifts of music.

At our 10:30 a.m. service, our acoustic band leads in a mix of hymns and popular songs. We combine sacred and secular songs with the reading of poetry in addition to our reading of scripture. We also offer a children's message during this service before our kids are invited to join Ms. Carey for Sunday school.

Pastor Brian Kemp-Schlemmer offers a unique sermon at both services and we gather at the table for communion at least once a month.
