Ingathering
Thank you, Broadway members! You have again supported Broadway’s efforts to Iowa’s Ingathering. The Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church provides this unique opportunity for local congregations to collect kits and items of need to be shared around the country, especially when disasters strike. The 60 school kits that Broadway is able to donate will be taken to Ingathering in Glenwood on Friday, November 6th and stored at Midwest Missions in Jefferson, Iowa until they are sent out into the world.
Broadway collected 589 items used in the 60 kits, plus $82 in cash to help cover the shipping fee. Our donation has a value of $780. (Earlier in the year, Broadway collected 157 requested items on their list plus 47 others.)
The Blessing
On Sunday, October 25, 2026 the following blessing was offered during worship both worship services
God, we give you thanks for all that you have done for our community, in particular the children in our community. We ask that you call us not to be passive observers of all the good work you are doing but to be active participants in all the ways you empower our children to learn and to become the people you have called them to be. Bless these kits so that as they go out from this place, kids all around the state of Iowa, our country, and the world know that your blessing is for them. May this be an outward and visible sign of our inner commitment to building your kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. All this we pray in the name of Jesus, our Lord. Amen.
