Omaha/Council Bluffs Bridges out of Poverty is a local non-profit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty in the metro area.  They empower under-resourced families by helping individuals build skills, discover barriers to success, and achieve self-sufficiency through targeted workshops. Together, our goal is to help individuals and families realize their dreams and create a new story, and a compelling future.

An 8 week course covers financial awareness, workforce etiquette and mental health.

Upon completion of the course, participants will receive a $300 stipend and indefinite access to a life skills coach.

I have been a certified facilitator for Omaha Bridges for 5 years.  Classes of 10-15 people come together once or twice a week to take our class “Getting Ahead in a Just Getting by World.”

It’s a privilege to join these people as they explore their own lives; strengths and areas of improvement.  We work collectively to help each other achieve goals and plan a future story for their lives.  I love watching people come together to form community and support each other; watching it happen is an awesome experience.  This is what I enjoy most besides watching my amazing class walk across the stage at graduation!

Fourth quarter class sign up will begin in August.  For further information please visit our website at omabop.org
