This week Broadway gave a check for  $8,908.00 to The Upper Room, an organization working with women and children escaping trafficking and domestic violence in Council Bluffs.  The Upper Room exists as a Christ-centered sober living refuge for single women, pregnant mothers, and mothers with children who are experiencing homelessness, battling addictions, domestic violence, and exploitation.

The Upper Room Team accepted the gift, representing 10% of Broadway’s income for the 2nd Quarter of this year, with this note of thanks:

Dear Pastor Brian and the amazing Broadway United Methodist Church,

Thank you so much for the generous gift!  This gift will allow The Upper Room to pay rent and continue to serve the women and children in our community.  We pray many blessings for you all!  ♥

In April, Director Gabby Dowdy visited Broadway to share The Upper Room's story and begin a conversation about an ongoing partnership. On August 9th Broadway hosted an Upper Room volunteer training. This donation is just the latest step in our ongoing relationship to serve our shared community!

If you’d like to learn more about The Upper Room and how you might be a part of their work here in CB, there is an opportunity coming soon:
