In the United Methodist tradition, the church meets annually for what is called a Charge Conference.  As a local church, time is spent in this meeting celebrating the ministry done in the past year.  It is also a time to set a vision and ministry plan for the year to come.   During the Charge Conference, voting is done on the next year’s leadership roster and some of the budget pieces including the pastor’s salary and benefits. 

In recent years, conferences have been held with other churches from the area. This year’s Charge Conference will be held on Thursday October 23, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Salem United Methodist Church. Everyone is welcome to attend.

On Wednesday October 22, 2025, as a way to engage all of us in the process, Broadway is hosting a Pre-Conference for those who call Broadway UMC their church home. We will have our Wednesday Foundations Community Dinner at 6:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  Then, we will invite the whole community to stay.  Children’s ministry will continue to meet for Faith in Motion in the Lower Level of the church. Youth, check with Shane regarding attending.

Adults in small groups and ministries are invited to stick around after dinner as we go through Thursday’s Charge Conference motions for your approval. Your vote will be taken to the Charge Conference the next night.

We encourage you to come. This is your opportunity to know more about the structure of the church, learn how money is budgeted, and understand how we will live in community with our neighbors in 2026.
