Advent PlaylistThis Advent, we invite you to linger in this season of waiting before taking a leap ahead to Christmas, especially Christmas Eve. As we sit in the Advent worship series, A Light in the Darkness, we take time to travel the dark road to Bethelehem with Mary and Joseph. On the way, pay attention to the little glimmers of light from the moon, the stars, a sunrise, or a campfire along the way. All of these can create in us a sense of wonder and expectation. |

Kid Friendly Food for Longfellow ElementaryJan Williamson, BUMC Choir Director Food insecurity affects many low income families and is a place no one wants to be in, especially those with children. Longfellow elementary has a program in place for giving families small bags of food to those who just need something to help tide them over. The choir gathered items that included: Mac ‘n’ cheese cups, pudding cups, jello cups, granola bars, applesauce cups, and more single serve food items that are child friendly. Melanie Parrish (choir member and teacher at Longfellow) delivered our donations to Longfellow. Parents were grateful for these kid friendly single serving foods (no food wasted!!) that their families can use. We are more than happy to replace as well when supplies get low! Thanks choir!! |

AnnouncementsWednesday Advent Taizé Worship December 10 and 17 at 6:45 PM After the 6 PM community meal on Wednesdays you are invited to join us in the Sanctuary for a contemplative worship that includes repeated chorus like chants, readings, and candles. United Women in Faith Cookie Walk Place your orders for cookies for your holiday get together by Tuesday December 9th. The women will be back in the Welcome Center on Sunday to help you with your order in person. Or you can place your order online by clicking the link below. Be sure to choose a pick up date then drive up or come into the church to get your order. Proceeds will be used for the church sign project.
Boys and Girls Club Christmas Margaret, Sue, and Dirk will be at the Welcome Center Desk once more on Sunday with names of Boys and Girls Club kids and their wish list. If you have not picked up a name yet, please stop by and get a list to make a bright Christmas for a young person from our community. Holiday Composting With the Christmas coming, there will be lots of food, and lots of food waste. Please consider bringing your scraps, including turkey carcasses to our the green composting bins beside the main trash bin in the parking lot. The code is 1185. On her cooking show, Rachel Ray always kept a dump bowl on the counter. It was there she place anything that could be composted. Broadway has been gifted some ice cream buckets with lids and handles. You are welcome to one for you composting needs. Stop by Teresa's office for one. |
