A New DawnBroadway Celebrates 175th Anniversary For the last several months the people of Broadway have been reflecting on the values and the ministries that brought us to this 175th year. This Sunday we start to vision what it looks like to maintain our values and seek to become the church needed by today's world. The Bishop of the Iowa and Illinois Annual Conferences, Kennetha Bigham-Tsai will be with us this Sunday at 10:30 AM to share her message titled, "A New Dawn and a New Vision." The Scripture she will reference is Isaiah 43:16-21. Pastor Brian will share his message at the 8:30 service. Communion will be available at both worship services and all are welcome at the Lord's table. All of this will conclude with sandwiches downstairs, provided by local Chef Around the Block (chefaroundtheblock.com) Dan Benigno. If you did not get the chance to RSVP, that's ok. There will be plenty of food. So please come. |

Student Ministries Deliver Love to Our NeighborsGood Neighbor Day What do you get when you multiply 109 roses by 25 Broadway youth? A whole lot of fun and love for the community! On Wednesday, September 3, the children's and youth ministries of Broadway United Methodist Church teamed up to spread some joy. They walked through the neighborhood, handing out beautiful roses to their neighbors. Each rose, a kind donation from Bloom Works Floral, came with a special note: "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. -1 John 4:11. Happy Good Neighbor Day from Broadway United Methodist Church." The youth from Foundations Night walked the entire 100 Block and even went as far as Blimpie's. The recipients of the roses were absolutely delighted! A special thanks to Brandi C. for arranging the roses and to Bloom Works Floral for continuing this fun yearly tradition.
